🇳🇱 Bikes, Tulips, Windmills: It’s Netherlands!

Date: March 2024

Location: Netherlands

I didn’t expect the Netherlands to hit this hard. Like yeah, I knew there’d be lakes, lots of water and maybe a windmill or two, but I wasn’t ready to feel like I’d stepped Pinterest. From the second I landed, it was giving “European bikers film.” So, let’s go!

💌 Amsterdam: Small Houses And Timeless Vibes

Amsterdam is literally a freedom city. It’s a whole mood. One second I was walking along a street admiring the city, the next I was dodging a bike going 60 km/h. And honestly? That’s what makes Amsterdam so different. It’s got this beautiful balance between calm and chaos.

You’re admiring the view one second, then almost getting wiped out by a bike the next. But somehow, it works. The whole country seems to run on two wheels, and it’s kind of iconic. I mean, they literally even have traffic lights just for bikes. As someone who’s into cycling, that felt like a love letter to me. It’s not just about transportation here; it’s culture. It’s identity. And in a weird way, it makes the city feel alive, constantly moving but never rushed.

📸 Rotterdam: Street, Style & Shopping Sprees

Rotterdam surprised me in the best way. It’s not trying to be cute like Amsterdam; it’s more serious, more modern, like a city that minds its business but still watches everything. The buildings are sharp, clean, kinda cold, but weirdly beautiful. And the people? Everyone moves with purpose. No one’s pretending. I liked that. Even when I went shopping, it didn’t feel like a whole performance.

Just calm streets, wide sidewalks, and big windows everywhere. Calm, but crowded areas. You walk around and suddenly you’re in a completely different part of the city, but it all feels connected. Rotterdam doesn’t beg for attention. It just exists, confidently. It was cool and i loved, of course.

I went a zoo in Rotterdam. Its calling Diergaarde Blijdorp. It is the oldest zoo in there. When you get inside, they give you a paper map, and you will definetly need it. And it boasts 562 species, too many!

When you walk between the animal sounds, peace, you can see every type of animals. And a fact, in there, they are organising the climates for animals! For example, a place like ice coldness is for penguins, polar bears and too many animals who lives in the poles! That was awesome!

🫶🏻The Hague: All Peace, No Noise

The Hague felt like a whole different city compared to the other cities. There’s this quietness to it — not boring quiet, its calming. Everything’s cleaner, neater, and slower in a comforting way. No one’s rushing, no one’s yelling. People walk like they have stable jobs and really nice skincare routines. The buildings are soft and royal-looking, but not trying to show off.

While i was walking, i noticed that there are too many green roads. I mean, if in right side it has the street, bikes, sidewalks etc. otherside, there has a peaceful long roads but its for walk. Green trees, small, cute animals and people who walking in peace. I actually liked it. I’d be happy if i see this on my hometown!

And no notes, have a good trip!💗
