🇪🇸 Golden Hours & Stone Streets: A Trip in Spain
Date: October 2024
Location: Barcelona & Madrid, Spain
It has long been my dream to visit Spain. Colorful streets, passionate people, Mediterranean breeze and of course tapas tables… This year I finally made up my mind: I went on a short but full journey of discovery that included Barcelona and Madrid. Here’s what’s left in my heart after a few days…
🏖 Barcelona: Gaudi’s City, The Dance Of The Colors
When i just stepped out the Barcelona; i thought i traveling a tableau, not a city. Colorful mosaics, Gaudí’s architecture shaped by his imagination and palm trees along the beach, surfers surfing… Everything was like another earths piece of art.
My first direction was Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família; for short, Sagrada Família, of course. It was so impressive even though it was not yet completed… When you get inside; you going silent, only looking at the ceiling and admiring it.
Park Güell is completely like a fairytale land. Mosaic snake shaped benchs, palm trees and the Barcelona view from the top. Gaudí is like speak with the nature, not copying the nature.
La Rambla Street is alive in the every single hour. The artists, the people who chilling on cafés, fresh fruit juices, choclates… it’s like it’s all burned into my memory.
I spent my evening while chilling on a tapas bar, near on the beach. Wine, seafoods and the Spanish songs who singing with guitar… what more could anyone ask for?
That was such as good trip to me. I advice every single person who wants to go there. Because, the time i spent on Barcelona, was flowing quailty. And some streets was reminding Rome City. Barcelona is definetly in my list that “The Cities I Wanna See Again”
🚄 Madrid: Elegancy, Nobility ve Movement
From Barcelona, I took the high-speed train to Madrid in about 2.5 hours. Same country but completly different soul. More serious, more aristocratic but it’s also a vibrant city, Madrid.
Firstly i visited Palacio Real (Kingdom Palace). The splendor inside is breathtaking. The saloons, mirrors, chandelier… Its like a time trave.
Prado Müzesi is a temple for the artlovers. Goya, Velázquez, El Greco… It is very difficult to realise the time while admiring the beauty of the paintings.
I spent a whole day in Retiro Park. Slowly boating on the lake, reading book under the trees and go on a walking… A peaceful oasis that makes you forget the crowds of Madrid.
And of course Gran Via… Shopping, theatre, cinnema and the heart of the nightlife beats here. When you walk under the street lamps in the evenings, you become one with the city.

✨ Final: One Country, Two Different Souls
Barcelona reminded me of imagination and Madrid of depth. One was like a colourful brush stroke, the other like an elegant poem.
This journey brought me not only new cities but also new emotions, new flavours, new people. Now I am back with a few magnets in my suitcase, hundreds of photos on my phone and unforgettable memories in my heart.
A little note 🎀
If you want to visit Spain, do not return without tasting the energy of Barcelona and the elegance of Madrid. The two cities are like two different breaths of the same culture… Have good time!
